The L&C Railroad is a privately owned, well-capitalized, financially strong, short line railroad based in Lancaster, South Carolina, 35 miles south of Charlotte, NC. We provide customized, competitive rail freight service for our customers and connect them to the national rail network through both CSX and Norfolk Southern. In December 2010, the L&C Railroad became part of Gulf & Ohio Railways, Inc.

The L&C Railway is strategically located in Lancaster and Chester Counties, SOUTH CAROLINA, 35 miles south of CHARLOTTE, NC, on the I-77 corridor and just 45 miles north of COLUMBIA, SC. Our Customers have quick access via I-77 to I-20, I-26, I-40, I-85, and I-95. This easy access to the interstate network provides for the timely movement of goods and services to market centers located within a one (1) day drive from our customers’ plants.
